Our farms
We farm in The Gambia
On a total area of 5500 hectares we are active in the cultivation of grain maize, wheat, barley, field beans, rapeseed, sunflowers, silage maize and grass. We also grow potatoes and onions on a small scale. And we keep fattening cattle for the production of solid manure and meat. The meat goes to the (super) markets, restaurants, hotels and holiday resorts in The Gambia and further afield in West Africa.
Challenge
It is quite a challenge to realize this production on foreign soil far from the Netherlands. But with a large team of young and fanatical colleagues (internship runners, freelance young people) and with locally trained people, we can still get a lot done together. And the cooperation with the local government, customs and port companies are certainly important links in the chain that make everything possible. And of course the good support from our suppliers and financiers. We also enjoy working with John Deere, AGCO, Lemken, Krone, EversAgro and various suppliers of seeds and crop protection products.
